EV and Low Carbon Technology Sentiment Tracker (Autumn 2020)

Our self-funded national consumer sentiment tracker highlights what consumers really think about electric vehicles, low carbon technology, and the policies to move to a low carbon future.

In this seventh wave of research, we found that EVs are increasingly seen as a reliable and affordable alternative to petrol and diesel vehicles. However, when it comes to other forms of Low Carbon Technology, several barriers and concerns remain that must be addressed before wide scale adoption is likely.

New to this wave, we also explored consumers’ perceptions of and emotional reactions to hydrogen as a fuel for heat and transport.

1. Reliability perceptios on the rise, home charging remains the clear preference, and lack of awareness s preventing Vehicle to Grid interest.
2. We also looked at sydrogen, low caron tech, and suppliers & tariffs.
